We ventured out to Elizabeth on Saturday looking forward to the challenge of playing a quality team.
We commenced well and had a lead at quarter time with some free flowing footy from both teams on the large expanses.
Unfortunately in the 2nd and 3rd quarters we let Centrals play the way they wanted and this ended up reflecting on the scoreboard. We fell away in execution of our fundamentals this week which was the most disappointing part of the day for the coaching group, as this was a strength of ours the week before.
While we won hit out’s, clearances & inside 50’s we couldn’t keep the ball in our front half for long enough to create more scoring opportunities and Centrals won the defensive battle against our forwards. Despite this we did fight the game out and nearly stole it in the end, albeit we wouldn’t have deserved the win.
Patrick Amber continued his strong season with Archie Walsh and Lucas White rounding out our best players on the day.
We look forward to working on our development areas from this game and putting them into practice against Glenelg back at home on Saturday.
