North Adelaide’s Billy Dowling ran hot in registering 45 disposals as his side accounted for Woodville-West Torrens by 36 points in Round 2 of the U18 Torrens University Cup at Prospect Oval.

A member of the SANFL U18 State Academy, Dowling also tallied eight marks, eight clearances and a goal as the Roosters led at every change to record their second win of the season.

Oliver and Jed Dignan, together with Hughten Wissman booted three goals for North while nippy midfielder Max Blacker had 32 possessions.

Eagles midfielder Adam D’Aloia chalked up a team-high 35 disposals and 12 clearances while Mattaes Phillipou kicked three goals to go with his 23 possessions.

Glenelg maintained its early place at the top of the table with a comfortable 36-point win against Norwood at The Parade.

Setting up the victory by kicking 5.3 to 1.1 in the opening quarter, the Bays steadied by kicking the first two goals of the fourth quarter when the hosts had trimmed the advantage to 19 points at the final change.

Tigers midfielders Archie Lovelock and Hayden Brokensha led the way with 27 possessions each while Jayden Davis made the most of their work down the field by nailing five goals to go with his 16 touches and eight marks.

Sturt survived a late scare from West Adelaide to hold on for a thrilling five-point win at Wigan Oval.

Leading all morning and with a 17-point lead 18 minutes into the fourth term, the Double Blues then conceded the next two goals in a row as West big man Tom Scully pegged the margin back to just four points.

Sturt managed to fend off the Bloods for the pulsating final minutes as George Pope (25 disposals, seven clearances) and Chad Reschke (five goals) contributed strongly.

Scully finished with six majors for Westies, who also had Tyson Coe (29 disposals, 13 clearances) and Kobe Ryan (27 disposals) as prominent performers.

South Adelaide bounced back from its Round 1 disappointment to inflict a 107-point loss on Central District at X Convenience Oval.

Succumbing to Sturt by 76 points in the season-opener, it was a very different Panthers outfit which eclipsed the Bulldogs by opening up a 44-point lead by half-time.

Classy goalsneak Jack Delean booted five goals for South, as teammates Blake Rodrigues and Will Verrall chimed in with three each. Angus Bradley kicked two for South to go with his 29 disposals, nine marks and five clearances.

Central District’s Sebastian Wauer covered plenty of ground in collecting a match-high 41 disposals while teammate Trent Tattoli finished with 28.
