Moody’s Match Report – West v Norwood

Preliminary Final time; a win needed to secure a place in the Grand Final, Norwood @ Norwood, was always going to be a tough game.

Norwood got on the scoreboard early, scoring the first goal of the game that was to be their only goal for three quarters. Westies dominated the game playing very hard & strong one on one footy.

Westies lead at every change and didn’t look like losing this match, running out winners by 24 points and securing a Grand Final spot against Glenelg.

We had good players all over the ground, our defence was once again outstanding. Our two young guns Young & Venning were sensational with Venning collecting 23 touches and dominating clearances.

Kate Walsh was outstanding against the competition leading ruck. Kate gave us first use and was very good around the ground. Another big game from Chelsea Biddell who once again was competing with multiple opponents, other major contributors were, Abbie Ballard, Mel Elsegood, Louie McCarthy and our 2 Victorian recruits Sarah Dargan and Sharnie Whiting.

We now move to the GF with winning our last 6 games and good momentum, looking forward to our first GF.
