Westies women have continued their good start to the season with a solid 26 point win over the Eagles at Hisense Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
After an even start to the game, Westies had a very dominating second quarter adding 4 goals to the one goal for the Eagles.
We were lead well this week from our onballers, Kate Walsh dominated the ruck and Zoe Venning had a day out with 25 disposals and a goal. She was well supported by Ash James and Louella McCarthy. Louella also finished the game with 2 goals.
It was a real team effort this week we had winners all over the ground, defenders Sharnie Whitting, Keeley Kusterman performed very well and gave us plenty of run and drive from half back. Chelsea Biddell was very good up forward and worked very hard in the ruck as well.
Unfortunately our other Crow Maddi Newman has re-injured her shoulder, and we hope it’s not a long term injury. We now set our sights on current premiers North Adelaide this week, good early season tester to see how we are traveling.
