130 Years of West Adelaide

2022 is a significant year for the West Adelaide Football Club. This year marks the 130th anniversary of our establishment. 130 years of rich history, courageous people, hard-fought battles, and inspiring victories define our Club. We are incredibly proud of our history and we are excited to share this momentous time with all our partners, members and supporters, as well as the broader West Adelaide community.

To celebrate this milestone, our first home game of the men’s 2022 Season will play host to a special heritage match. The players will honour the very first West Adelaide players by wearing a guernsey inspired by the original magenta guernseys worn by our first team in 1892 (see below).

Club President Murray Forbes urges all members and supporters to get behind this unique offer, “Let’s get along to our first home game, wearing this special guernsey, and honour the memory of all those past players who have sacrificed so much for our great club. What a fantastic way to start the men’s season. I look forward to seeing you all there.”

You can join in the celebration and support the Club by purchasing your very own Heritage Guernsey through a special pre-order portal now! This portal will close January 30th to allow for the guernseys to arrive in time for the heritage match. Orders can be delivered direct to you or to the Club for collection at the match. The guernseys can also be personalised with your preferred player number.
