David Shipway AM to Receive AFL’s Jack Titus Service Award

The West Adelaide Football Club would like to congratulate life member, David Shipway AM on receiving the AFL’s Jack Titus Service Award for his outstanding contribution to Australian Football.

David served on the SA Football Commission for 21 years and held the position of Deputy Chairman from 2012 to 2016.  This was preceded by a role as a West Adelaide board member from 1985-94 including serving as Chairman in 1988-89 and president from 1990-94.

His work in Community Football across South Australia is outstanding which was recognised in 2017 when he received an Order of Australia Medal.

David recalls his passion for AFL starting at West Adelaide when he was just a child getting autographs from legends like Ken Eustice and Neil Kerley who turned into lifelong friends.

BL Shipway has sponsored the club for over 40 years and is currently supporting the junior program.

David has requested that the AFL present the Jack Titus Medal to him at a West Adelaide home match function where he will also be our guest speaker. The date of this match will be released soon. Members and supporters will be able to attend and purchase tickets for $65 which includes a two course meal, beer, wine and soft drinks as well as entry into the match.

We once again congratulate Shippy on his outstanding achievements and we thank him for his unwavering support of the West Adelaide Football Club.
