The West Adelaide Football Club have signed young ruckman Frane Babic from the Sydney Academy.
Towering at 205cm in height, the developing ruckman with a basketball background has begun to focus on Australian Rules over the last two years.
Football manager Wayne Siekman said, “It is fantastic to sign a quality young player like Frane. We believe with the program we have he will be able to fulfill his potential and become a quality ruck for the future.”
Frane describes himself as ‘raw’ but with no shortage of competitiveness effort.
Head coach of the Sydney Academy Jared Crouch noted that while Frane still has a way to go in developing his ruck craft, the hard work he did over his time in Sydney proved how serious the young player was about improving.
When speaking about playing for Brad Gotch, Frane said, “It was an absolute pleasure to meet with Brad. He’s got great insight as well being a good bloke which makes me excited to be working with him this season.”
“I’m stoked to be part of this club. I can’t wait to throw on the Westies jumper, run out, play some good footy, and most importantly, win.”
Great to have you on board Frane!
