Corey Siemers – 10 Years On

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the passing of Corey Siemers.

10 years ago today Corey was tragically killed in a car accident which devastated his family and friends.

West Adelaide Football Club pays tribute each year with the Corey Siemers Memorial Award for the best under 18 player from the Riverland. Previous winners include Josh Schiller, Jono Beech and Brad Helbig.

We recently spoke with Corey’s parents Gavin and Gina Siemers, past player and close friend of Corey, Brad Helbig as well as assistant coach at the time Jarrod Meers.

The video starts with how Corey began playing for West Adelaide, and touches on how his passing affected his family and friends over the years. Also discussed is how Corey has inspired others in their life 10 years on and how it brought our playing group closer.
