He’s no stranger to adversity which is why Logan Hill’s fighting qualities have earned him a berth in the Statewide Super League Top 50.
West Adelaide’s vice-captain missed the best part of three seasons when he broke his leg in two places shortly after his League debut in 2008.
It only served to spur on the now 32-year-old to great heights as he continues to play a strong, and consistent, brand of football as evidenced by him winning the 2019 Neil Kerley Medal as the Bloods’ best-and-fairest.
A 2015 premiership player, Hill was also selected in last year’s initial West End State squad for his ability to lock down on the opposition’s most dangerous small forwards.
Hill’s loyalty to the red-and-black is also to be admired given he has ridden the Richmond roller-coaster for more than a decade while continuing to set the tone with high training standards.
The Bloods veteran was a clear presence on the training track in February this year, encouraging his team-mates with strong voice while leading the pack during a series of sprints despite being the twilight of his career.
Selected by SANFL Media Producer Zac Milbank, the 2020 Statewide Super League Top 50 is being unveiled one player at a time on the League’s website and social media channels.
Form across the 2019 season was used as a significant factor in the selection process, with those winning awards such as best-and-fairests, being selected in State squads and leadership groups also looked upon favourably.
Recruits to the Statewide Super League have also been included, with significant AFL experience another element in deciding the order of players.
